CONNAM Bishop’s Actions Contradicts His Own Message…

The Rt. Revd. C.O. Nathan Kanu, CONNAM Interim Coordinating Bishop, in his Father’s day address said “may we strive always to shine the light of honesty, sincerity, hard work, and godliness before our children so that seeing our godly examples, they may reproduce godliness which alone can brighten the future of their life, the Church, and the entire society.

What is ironic is that Bishop Kanu has led a group from the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) in illegally breaking and entering, destroying private property, and illegally seizing an Anglican Church belonging to the ACNA in Irvington, NJ.

Unfortunately, honesty, sincerity, and godliness are qualities that have been woefully absent in the behaviour of this once respected Bishop. A November 2022 letter from Bishop Kanu to the Rt. Rev’ed Kenneth Ross even threatened Bishop Ross with physical violence. Bishop Kanu’s actions have hardly been appropriate or befitting a Bishop in Christ’s one, holy, catholic and apostolic church.

Bishop Kanu posed a rather poignant inquiry in his Fathers Day message by stating: “We want and wish the best for our children and the future generations. But the big question is-How are we preparing to brighten the future for our children?  If our children build on the Moral, political, religious, and social foundations we lay today, how bright could their future and those of the Church and society be?  As we well know, every plant grows to bear the same fruit as the one the planter planted.”

Judging the moral, political, religious, and social foundations that Bishop Kanu has set as of late, the future for CONNAM and the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) seems to be on a bleak, dark, and destructive path.
